Standard Commercial and Salzman Tobacco Co. Ltd. form Trans-Continental Leaf Tobacco Co. to oversee Far East operations

Dibrell Brothers establishes first threshing plant in the United States

Standard Commercial and Thapawnog form Siam Tobacco Export Corp. (STEC) in Thapawong

Standard Commercial acquisition of Andrew Chalmers, resulting in an expansion of operations in Malawi

A.C. Monk acquires the Austin Co. and becomes Monk-Austin

First reforestation projects in Brazil
